I am Latoyer Hankerson a graduate from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University where I received both my undergraduate (Elementary Education) and graduate degrees (Elementary Education and Educational Leadership). I am a proud mother of two energetic children that keep me on the move. I enjoy shopping, eating seafood (blue crabs) and watching Lifetime and Hallmark Movies.

I am entering my 18^th year in my educational career. I began my teaching career at Havana Elementary School as a second grade teacher. After three years, I transitioned to Leon County to continue my professional career as an elementary teacher, reading coach, dean and adjunct instructor at Tallahassee Community College.

With my experiences and love that I have for children, I wanted to impact students to ensure that ALL students receive the best education. With this growth mind set, I had the aspiration to become an assistant principal. I was granted the opportunity to serve as an Assistant Principal at Havana Magnet School.

I am excited and honored to able to continue to be a part of the eagle family as we continue to soar BEYOND the “A”. It is my goal to work with teachers to ensure that we are meeting the needs of the WHOLE student, not only through academics but also socially and emotionally.

Furthermore, guiding teachers to assist students to reach their academic potential level through consistent active reading, data chats and academic challenges that move them to the next level. This will ensure the continued success that “OUR EAGLES” will soar above the rest.
